Saigon was the capital of French Indochina from 1887 to 1902, and again from 1945 until its cessation in 1954. Following the partition of French Indochina, it became the capital of South Vietnam until the fall of Saigon in 1975. The communist government renamed Saigon in honour of Ho Chi Minh after the fall of Saigon. Beginning in the 1990, the city underwent modernisation and expansion, contributing to Vietnam’s post-war economic recovery.
This morning – The tour guide and car will pick you up from your hotel and will start our tour of Ho Chi Minh City. You will get to know its history and culture by stopping at:
The Reunification Palace – on April 30th, 1975, what the Vietnamese refer to as the ‘American War’ officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time, the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam
War Remnants Museum – formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching and is dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict.
Notre Dam Cathedral and General Post Office were built around 1877 and 1883 respectively. These two iconic buildings are fine examples of French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in the building of the Notre Dam Cathedral was shipped from France to Vietnam. The Old Post Office is also the country’s largest post office.
The Opera House, Built in 1897 by French architect Eugène Ferret as the Opéra de Saïgon, the 500 seat building was served as the house of the unicameral National Assembly from 1956 to 1967 and then as bicameral houses: Lower House (Hạ Nghị Viện) and a Senate or Upper House (Thượng Nghị Viện) of the National Assembly of South Vietnam after 1956. And also held the People’s Assembly (Đại hội đại biểu Nhân dân) of the Republic of South Vietnam from 1975. It was not until 1976 that it was again used as a theatre, and the façade was restored in 1995.
After the lunch at local restaurant, we take you to see Chinatown with Binh Tay Market: Bình Tây Market was built, or at least heavily financially supported, by a Chinese businessman named Guo Tan, better known as Quách Đàm, (1863–1927), originally hailing from Chaozhou in Guangdong. Quách Đàm operated his businesses under the trade name of Thông Hiệp, but he was best known by his nickname “Handicapped Thông” among local Chinese.
We then move on to Thien Hau Pagoda, a temple entered through an iron gate and crossing a small courtyard. The roof is decorated with delicately fashioned porcelain figurines expressing themes from Chinese religion and legends. Lanterns and wooden models of Chinese theaters hang over the entrance.
Our final stop before taking you back to your hotel is Ben Thanh Market, one of Vietnams largest markets and a real heart beat of Ho Chi Minh culture.

Great city tour
We just had our city tour with Tony, who showed us Saigon with such a very unique perspective. Seeing the whole city to different spots itself was a great and fun experience since the traffic in Saigon is crazy while we felt safe the whole time with Tony. 10/10 would recommend.

Several stops during the day and every steps was the opportunity to discover Vietnamese culture, history with the guarantee of authenticity that can only be found there. Tony ( Duy Anh ) met us at our hotel and we started an amazing and personal tour by car. His English is very good and he was very professional and personable. He was cautious about our safety while crossing streets, etc. We learned so much about the culture and history of all regions of Vietnam, south Vietnam especially. We also learned about foods of regions.
He knew I especially love history and we were delighted with his explanations.

We took the one-day private city tour which covered highlights of Saigon city. Our guide called himself “laughing”. He was a warm and humorous guy who made our trip fun and informative. We enjoyed the day very much. A nice lunch was included and our driver was professional. The car was clean and spacious and provided bottled water was a nice touch.
Breathtaking experience and nice personality
It was actually a fascinating experience that Our private guide Minh provided a few amazing place and interesting things whereas it was a lack of information as we were unhappy to know at all. By contrast, he was compassionate and lovely.
Great day tour
Our guide, Thai, was friendly, helpful, and full of information about the sights of Ho Chi Minh City. We had a great full day tour. The only disappointing thing was lunch, which was NOT authentic Vietnamese food but a bland set menu designed for Western tastes. We realize that this was nit the fault of our guide and hope that the tour company will provide a Vietnamese lunch in future.

Our guide Kay was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. Managed to answer all our questions. We learned a lot about the history and culture of Vietnam.
A very good experience in Ho Chi Minh City.
The company was easy to deal with. We asked them to change the time of the tour to fit our schedule and they were happy to do so. Our guide, Thai, was absolutely superb. He had the day planned but was ready to change to accommodate our requests. He is very knowledgeable about the city and the country’s history. My wife and I were very happy to spend the day with him and his driver. As regards the tour itself we saw all the main sights. Our only negative was the included lunch. The food was mediocre. A great bowl of pho would have been preferable. All in all though a very good experience and we are happy to recommend the company and especially Thai.

Been in day tours previously but this visit I was with friends, Yen Tran tour was far and away better, more interesting, more informative, more fun , and out the others to shame.
Great Tour
This full day private tour of Ho Chi Minh City was fantastic. Our driver and tour guide, Yen, were on time, professional and very friendly. Yen spoke good English and was very engaging. We visited all the major sites including a temple, the markets, the war museum etc. Yen explained all of the highlights at each location. Our lunch was at a local Vietnamese restaurant and was delicious. I would recommend this tour to any first time visitor to Ho Chi Minh City.

I had an amazing tour guide, his name is Tien Nhat, he and our driver. Tien, was very patient and knowledgeable, he showed me some amazing places and we toured areas that I would not have seen otherwise. He showed a personal interest in making sure that we understood what we were seeing, and he shared details about his life and family that enlightened us about Vietnamese culture. His degree in history helped us put Vietnam’s complex history in an understandable context. And, when we wanted to modify our tour to see some other sights, he readily modified the itinerary.

Memorable trip
We have group of 24 people went on cruise in oct. One day in Vietnam , Ho chi Ming city.
We contacted road tour vietnam to organize the day tour for us. Ryan been very helpful and patiently to compromise our need. The price were great and food were excellent.
Our tour guide , Loc , he were so funny and informative. He made sure everybody been taken care of. We were so happy with their service and highly recommend to anyone.
We also joined their northern vietnam after the cruise, our tour guide, Hung, he is so awesome. Young and energetic , good English speaking. He sure made our trip more fun and understand the rich history of Vietnam. The best price with the best service. Halong bay is beautiful. The food on the boat were great. I would do this trip again with Hung.

First day – City Tour

What I can say is we really have a pleasant trip. The driver, although can’t speak English, is a friendly and patient guy.
Mr Ryan also helps to organise our trip and recommend the places we should visit.

Ho Chi Minh City tour
I was passing though Vietnam on my way back to England, and being a lady traveling alone I decided to book a your guide, I was greeted at the airport by a lovely young lady called Nhi, firstly we went for some amazing traditional Vietnam Pho which was simply delicious! The war museum was next, this was truly heart wrenching but I’m very moved I went to experience this imagery of the horrific Vietnam war and the effects of agent arrange! We traveled around the city then by cyclo which was interesting and gives you a real insight into the city and you see old antique streets and crazy mopeds! More street food then which was my favourite broken rice and pork!! Yum! They checked me into a really lovely hotel with a jet bath which was highly needed! Nhi was a fabulous guide and I would highly recommend her
Ho Chi Minh and Mui Ne Tours
Before the trip to Southern Vietnam. I have contacted Ryan from Roadstour Vietnam by email. After several emails, I decided to book a Full day HCM tour and a Mekong Delta tour with them.My wife and myself arrived TSN Airport on the 14th June. We were pick up by a driver from Roadstour and transfer us to our hotel.
Ryan was there to meet me and arrange a tour guide for us personally.
Our tour guide was Nhi. She was a young and friendly girl and speaks English that we could really understand.I mean she really speaks good English. LOL.
Anyway, our tour of HCM City was informative, fun and we have a great time together.
On the 2nd day we went to the Mekong Delta. During the trip, we were caught by a sudden rainfall. Nhi was fast to react and find us some raincoats and we really appreciated her thoughtfulness and care.
After we returned to the hotel, we decided to book another tour with them – the Water Puppet Show and dinner on the floating restaurant- cruise boat. But we find that the dinner was not suitable for us, and Nhi takes her initiative to contact her boss, Ryan and arrange another location for us. We went to Five Oysters Restaurant at Pham Ngu Lao District and have a nice dinner there. We left for Mui Ne the next morning and returned to HCM on 18th June and met up with Nhi and we invited her to join us for dinner as to thank her for being a great tour guide and friend during our stay in Vietnam.
We have traveled often to other Asian countries and join their tours and I can said Roadstour Vietnam is highly recommended if you happen to visit Southern Vietnam.
We thanked Ryan for arranging the excellent tour guide and drivers to bring us around, especially Nhi for her warm hospitality during our stay in HCM.

Great Way to Experience the City
As first-time visitors, the private full-day tour of Ho Chi Minh City was a great choice to orient ourselves to this city and its cultural icons. Toan did a fabulous job of guiding us and providing historical context to the exhibits and sights we visited. Lunch at the Vietheritage restaurant was a scrumptious 5-course feast of fresh, local cuisine. And Toan allowed us plenty of time to browse and shop along the way. Hats off to Truang, our intrepid driver, for navigating the chaotic streets of the city to get us to our various destinations, and ultimately, safely back to our hotel.
