At Morning or Noon – your tour guide and private car will pick you up from your hotel and will start our tour of Ho Chi Minh City. You will get to know its history and culture by stopping at:
The Reunification Palace – on April 30th, 1975, what the Vietnamese refer to as the ‘American War’ officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time, the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam
War Remnants Museum – formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching and is dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict.
Notre Dam Cathedral (Notes: Maintenance) and General Post Office were built around 1877 and 1883 respectively. These two iconic buildings are fine examples of French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in the building of the Notre Dam Cathedral was shipped from France to Vietnam. The General Post Office is also the country’s largest post office,
Then take to Ngoc Hoang (Jade Emperor) Pagoda is famous in Ho Chi Minh City for a set of about 100 statues made from cardboard that depicts a meeting of genies with the Jade Emperor. It has now become a favorite destination of tourists. During his recent official visit to Vietnam, US President Barack Obama visited this pagoda.
Finally, enjoy a visit to Ben Thanh Market, a lively market in District 1, where your guide can help you barter for goods. After the tour you’ll be dropped back at your hotel.

Had a wonderful day strolling around Ho Chi Minh City. Our tour guide, Tony, was really amazing. He was punctual and patient. Our private tour was off the hook, Tony guided us through a fascinating city history. My father and I were all amazed at all the cultural sites. Fascinating insights into modern Vietnamese history
We had had a wonderful tour with Qui of the Independence Palace. We learnt so much about the palace’s history and architecture. We also went to the War Remnants Museum and the Jade Pagoda. Qui was extremely informative and happy to accommodate the changes we requested to the itinerary. Nothing was too much trouble to make sure we got the most out of our tour. We would highly recommend Qui as a guide if you want fascinating stories, facts and insights into the personalities of the Vietnamese leaders up to 1975.

We had a fantastic day with Duy Anh He made learning about his culture, his city, and history fun, yet thought-provoking.
He shared his perspective and experiences in ways that made us want to keep learning more. He gave us great bargaining tips and even helped me find cinnamon in the market (definitely have cinnamon in Vietnam, thuis is where they grow it, and the flavor is so much better than the stuff that has sat in warehouses on both sides).
Our driver kept us safe and was always on time. The lunch was great, as well.
We’d happily tour with Duy Anh again.

As we were riding to different locations, we had great conversations about the culture of the Vietnamese people and the history of Saigon as we passed different districts. Comfortable express city tour
A very interesting informative city tour.
Ty was a very pleasant knowledgeable guide and the air conditioned car was very comfortable.
This was a fast hassle free way to see the main tourist spots.
We will return to the war museum and the markets to peruse at our leisure.

Hi, I booked a private tour to take a closer look to this crazy city and luckily Harley was the one who took care of me (I was still a little wasted from the party the night before).
She was very patient, kind and attending.
We had very interesting conversations und I got to know very interesting insights of the city and life in ho chi Minh and Saigon and ate a delicious soup.
In addition she’s a safe scooter rider and speaks proper English- two things that are, you will see necessary in this city 😉

We asked for specific sites, the presidential palace, post office, Notre Dame cathedral, book fair, war remnants museum.
I cant thank our guide japan highly enough, his English was brilliant, he was kind, informative and answered all questions very well, explaining French colonial history as well as the fall of Saigon and end of the war in 1975 was incredibly interesting and gave a true insight to the Vietnamese perspective as we have only ever heard the American sides view. His knowledge going round the former presidential palace was amazing and he had endless patience.
We then proceeded to the war remnants museum, it is a very well curated museum, incredibly moving, but not an easy visit, particularly on the effects of agent orange. I felt it was expressed really objectively acknowledging the suffering on both sides and I was surprised as I guess I expected something more propagandist, in my view it wasn’t, but it really showed the gruesome reality of war.
We had intended to go onto Obama pagoda, but my fiancé was so upset by what we saw in the museum we decided to cut our tour short.
Since arriving in Vietnam I have had a flare up of a chronic back problem which has meant a lot of pain and sleep deprivation due to the pain. I explained that I knew what medications I am prescribed back in the Uk. Japan asked our driver to stop at a pharmacy where we tried to get them. Unfortunately they weren’t available but they said they were available at a pharmacy some 10km away, that is a long journey in hcmc traffic and our tour was at an end.
Japan volunteered to ride out that distance buy the meds from his own cash and brought them to us after another street food tour we had booked for the same evening. When we returned at 11pm, he was waiting with the meds in the hotel lobby, he asked nothing other than the cost of the meds. WHAT AN AMAZING INCREDIBLY KIND MAN HE IS, thank you Japan!! I was blown away by this young man’s humanity and kindness, he was faultless.
Since that time I have been almost free from pain and have finally got some sleep.

I commend anyone considering a private tour to both use this company and specifically to ask for Japan, you won’t find a better experience.

The half day tour is comprehensive and brought us back to the olden French colonisation and world war days. Our guide, Lily speaks good English, is friendly and outgoing. She is a great photographer and even suggested some poses for Instagram worthy photos! We enjoyed our tour!
